Everything I Wore This Week Volume 16.0
A Week in Outfits: From Christmas in Summer to Vintage Treasure Hunting
Hi, it's me again—back with another week of outfits, though admittedly a day late because this week has been chaos (and I don’t even have kids, so I’m thinking about all of you who have been wrapping up the school year!). The weather's been all over the place with temps bouncing around, making getting dressed feel like a daily guessing game. But my main philosophy of dressing to make myself happy has helped cut through some of the decision fatigue.
I always mention how much I love putting these posts together and how they help me get dressed each day—and that's completely true. But it's deeper than that. These weekly roundups push me to try new things instead of falling into my comfort zone of wearing the same safe combinations on repeat. Don't get me wrong, comfort has its place (especially after long weekends) but challenging myself to make bolder fashion choices rather than defaulting on jeans and a tee for every single outfit genuinely makes me happy.
So, here's this week's Everything I Wore This Week—and as always, let me know if there's anything specific you'd love to see in upcoming posts.

☕ Monday
Mood: Christmas in the Summer
Wearing: Forest Green Crewneck Sweatshirt, Madewell Cherry Red Denim Jeans, Reebok Jelly Belly X Classic Leather Legacy Flavor Mix GW, Klassy Solid Crew Neck Tshirt, Missoma Filia Double Chain Necklace, Missoma Gold Box Link Double Chain Necklace, Missoma Gold Open Heart Signet Ring, Missoma Rouje Heart Oversized Stud Earrings, Red Crossbody Purse
Monday called for the perfect work-from-home outfit that could transition from coffee runs to afternoon errands. I reached for this forest green crewneck sweatshirt and paired it with my favorite Madewell cherry red denim jeans—accidentally creating "Christmas in summer" energy, and honestly? I'm here for it.
Those Reebok Jelly Belly sneakers (yes, the candy collaboration ones) added the perfect playful touch while keeping me comfortable all day. Layered a basic grey tee underneath for temperature regulation and kept my gold jewelry consistent with double chain necklaces and heart-shaped earrings. That red crossbody bag tied the whole festive color palette together.
Sometimes the best outfits happen when you follow your comfort instincts and let unexpected color combinations surprise you.

Mood: Print Therapy for Gloomy Days
Wearing: Lucy & Yak Jumpsuit in Maria Print, Missoma Filia Double Chain Necklace, Missoma Gold Box Link Double Chain Necklace, Missoma Rouje Heart Oversized Stud Earrings, Black and Gold Mules
Wearing this jumpsuit brings me so much joy, so I thought I'd wear it for a gloomy Tuesday. Sometimes the best remedy for gray skies is intentionally choosing pieces that spark happiness—and this Lucy & Yak Maria print does exactly that.
As I've mentioned before, I love Lucy & Yak jumpsuits for their incredible prints, mission, and commitment to sustainability. I now have three jumpsuits from them because they consistently deliver joy in wearable form. Jumpsuits are the ultimate one-piece solution for days when you want to look put-together without overthinking it.
I kept my gold jewelry layering consistent with the double chain necklaces and heart-shaped earrings, while those black and gold mules grounded the whole look. Sometimes the simplest styling choices make the biggest impact.

✨ Wednesday
Mood: Sparkle Therapy in Action
Wearing: Abercrombie & Fitch Short Sleeve Martini And Fries Graphic Relaxed Tee, Abercrombie & Fitch Mid Rise Ultra Barrel Jean, Chunky Silver Necklaces, Sparkly Boots
I wanted to be comfortable but also debut these sparkly boots for the first time—and let me tell you, they delivered an instant serotonin boost exactly as predicted. Sometimes you just know a piece is going to make you happy, and these disco-worthy boots absolutely did not disappoint.
The styling felt effortless: casual graphic tee and relaxed barrel jeans as the perfect neutral backdrop to let those boots shine (literally). Added chunky silver necklaces for some metallic coordination without overdoing it. Even though it was still a bit chilly when I wore this, the sparkle factor was worth any temperature considerations.
This outfit is your friendly reminder to wear what makes you happy, regardless of season or expectations. Life's too short for boring shoes.

🌼 Thursday
Mood: Cargo Comfort Meets Cozy Layers
Wearing: TNA Camo Cargo Pants, Cream Knit Sweater, White Plain Crewneck Tee, Cream Leather Boots, Missoma Ridge Oversized Stud Earrings, Missoma Bobble Chain Choker, Aupen Nirvana Noir
When the temperature dropped again, I seized the opportunity to extend sweater season by pairing this cream knit with cargo pants—because why choose between comfort and style when you can have both? The contrast between the utilitarian camo pants and soft cream tones created exactly the kind of unexpected combination I love.
Layered a basic white tee underneath for dimension and threw on my favorite Missoma pieces—the ridge earrings and bobble chain choker added just enough edge to complement the military-inspired pants. My cream leather boots tied the neutral palette together while my Aupen Nirvana Noir bag provided the perfect finishing touch.
Sometimes the best outfits happen when you lean into temperature surprises and mix textures that shouldn't work but absolutely do.

🔋 Friday
Mood: Jumpsuit Queen Energy
Wearing: Free People We the Free High Roller Jumpsuit, Black and Gold Mules, Aupen Nirvana Noir, Reformation Marlo Knit Top, Missoma, Filia Double Chain, Missoma Square Pearl Statement Stud Earrings
A day that took me from working on side projects to lunch at Iowa's best burger joint with my aunt called for the ultimate one-piece solution. This Free People jumpsuit delivered comfort and style without any overthinking required—perfect for transitioning from focused work mode to family time.
Layered the Reformation knit top underneath for extra warmth and dimension, while my go-to black and gold mules kept things elevated but walkable. The Missoma pieces—double chain necklace and pearl statement earrings—added just enough polish for a special lunch out.
The best part of the day? Picking up a lamp from my great-grandma that's now proudly displayed in my house. Sometimes the perfect outfit is just the backdrop for making meaningful memories and bringing family treasures home.

🔥 Saturday
Mood: Casual Cool
Wearing: Reformation Haven Knit Top, TNA Camo Cargo Pants, Nike Dunk High Shoes, Missoma Ridge Heart Necklace, Missoma Savi Pearl Gemstone Beaded Necklace, Missoma Ripple Oversized Stud Earrings, Red Crossbody Purse
A Saturday that called for movie theater comfort with a touch of intentional style led me to this effortless mix of utility and femininity. The Reformation Haven knit top with its off-shoulder detail provided that perfect balance of relaxed and put-together, while the TNA camo cargo pants delivered the comfort I needed for settling into theater seats without sacrificing any edge.
The Nike Dunk Highs were an obvious choice—comfortable enough for walking (and biking!) around but with enough street-style credibility to keep the look interesting. My red crossbody kept essentials close without the bulk of a larger bag, and the layered Missoma pieces added that golden warmth I always reach for—the heart necklace and pearl beaded chain creating just enough visual interest against the black top.
The best part of the evening? Being able to enjoy The Accountant 2. There's always that sequel anxiety—will it live up to the original?—but this one delivered completely. I loved it. 10/10 recommend.
Sometimes the right outfit is just the foundation for a night that exceeds expectations, whether that's feeling confident in your style choices or discovering a movie that reminds you why you loved the first one.

A Sunday that started with brunch cocktails and ended with vintage treasure hunting called for comfort that could transition from restaurant to strolling through Valley Junction's charming streets. This striped crewneck and sunstone orange parachute pants combo delivered that perfect casual-chic energy, while the oversized denim jacket added the ideal layer for Iowa's unpredictable spring weather.
The Charlotte Stone mules kept things elevated but walkable for hours of antique store browsing, and my layered Missoma pieces—from the delicate heart necklace to the playful jelly heart chain—added just the right amount of sparkle for a special reunion. My blue alligator print bag with its accent scarf brought a pop of personality that felt perfectly suited for discovering that dreamlike little shop that seemed straight out of a storybook.

✨ Wrap-Up
Just a reminder to wear what you love. Who cares what others think—if you love it, wear it. So many people tell me they love my outfit but follow it up with "I could never wear that," and I always wonder why? Fashion is supposed to be fun, about expression and showing your personality before someone even meets you.
You don't have to wait until you lose a few pounds or buy that next perfect piece. Start dressing how you want to dress today, because purchasing what you love means you don't have to follow trends or wait for permission. Remember, someday we won't be able to do this.
Want to start small? Try swapping your everyday bag for something with a little more personality—it's amazing how much a fun purse can elevate your entire outfit and mood.
So, wing that eyeliner, put the bright pink lip on, wear the sparkly boots. We only have one life, and if those things are going to make you happy, then do it.
If you're reading this thinking "I want to start dressing more like myself again," consider this your nudge.

My 5 Go-To Pieces (& How You Can Track Them Down Secondhand)
How many times have you tried to repurchase a favorite item only to discover it's no longer available? Instead of settling for “similar” alternatives, I’ve started using secondhand sites to thoughtfully search for pieces I genuinely love and plan to wear for years. Recently, I found a handful of staples from brands I know, love, and trust—six dresses, a romper, two pairs of heels, and a purse—all for under $200 on ThredUp.
