5 ThredUp Finds I Can’t Wait to Style
What happens when secondhand shopping goes very, very right.
I used to scroll right past secondhand sites, convinced my style was lost somewhere beneath a sea of outdated office blazers. While I had heard of ThredUp, I hadn’t really given it a fair shot—until I came across a tip from Danielle Vermeer, ThredUp’s Head of Social Commerce, on how to search for today’s trends. That one trick flipped the script.
Now? My cart is stacked with romper dreams, retro heels, and the occasional poncho I didn’t even know I needed. I’ve been obsessed with cruising through their secondhand treasures (and by treasures, I do mean actual treasures). Most pieces are still en route—but that hasn’t stopped me from styling them in my head like I’m prepping for Fashion Week.
The Pieces I Found
Now for the fun part. Below are five standout pieces I recently scored on ThredUp—each one a little different, a little unexpected, and totally my style. I’ve included how I’m planning to wear them (and in some cases, how I already have).
Some have been styled. Some are still in the “dreaming up outfits in my head at midnight” phase. Either way, here’s a peek at what I found—and why I couldn’t pass them up.

1. The Farm Rio Shorts Romper
The moment I saw this romper, I knew it was a yes. Farm Rio has become one of my go-to secondhand hunts—their pieces are bold, playful, and full of joy… but buying them brand-new can definitely add up. So anytime I find one pre-loved? Immediate heart-eyes.
This romper checks all the boxes: vibrant, unexpected, and bursting with color. It’s not the kind of piece that quietly joins your wardrobe—it makes an entrance. Rompers have always been one of my favorite things to wear (hello, one-and-done outfit magic), and I already know this one will be on heavy rotation all summer.
Whether I’m pairing it with heels, sneakers, or something weird and wonderful in between, this is the kind of find that makes secondhand shopping feel like a win every time.
💖 Look #1: Pink on Pink with Emerald Spark (Farm Rio Romper)

💚 Look #2: Whimsy Meets Edge (Farm Rio Romper + Gia Couture Heels)

🫒 Look #3: A Walking Color Story (Farm Rio Romper)

2. Gia Couture x Pernille Teisbaek Heels
When I saw these heels on ThredUp, it was a full-stop moment. The color? One of my forever favorites. The shape? Retro, sculptural, and surprisingly wearable. They’re not quiet shoes—they command the room. And when a piece starts generating outfit ideas before it even hits your doorstep, you know it’s a keeper.
Even better? They usually retail for $200–$400—and I snagged them for a steal. Honestly, I didn’t even blink.
🧡 Look #1: Structured Meets Sculptural (Gia Couture Heels + Tailored Vest)

💛 Look #2: Secondhand from Head to Toe (Gia Couture Heels)

💗 Look #3: Chartreuse Statement Energy (Gia Couture Heels)

3. Lilly Pulitzer Cocktail Dress
I wasn’t even thinking about cocktail dresses—but the second I saw this one on ThredUp, I immediately thought of that scene from Sirens. You know the one: Devon slips into a Lilly Pulitzer dress and completely transforms. That moment now lives rent-free in my mind.
I mentioned it in one of my recent Everything I Wore This Week posts, but if you haven’t watched Sirens, consider this your sign. The casting? Incredible. The storyline? Hooked me instantly. I binged the entire thing in one night.
So when I spotted this Lilly dream secondhand, it felt like fashion fate.
🥂 Look #1: Brunch, But Make It Palm Beach (Lilly Pulitzer Dress)

🎨 Look #2: Gallery-Ready Florals (Lilly Pulitzer Dress + Denim Layers)

🐍 Look #3: Sweetness with Bite (Lilly Pulitzer Dress + Snakeskin Accents)

4. Chico’s Animal Print Skirt
The second I saw this leopard fringe moment, it practically shouted my name. It’s loud, it’s fun, it’s got movement—and most importantly, it refuses to be ignored. This is one of those pieces that turns getting dressed into a full creative exercise. I already knew I’d be styling it with bright heels and bold accessories, but the options? Truly endless.
So far, I’ve styled it three ways (with more on the horizon). I’m even toying with throwing on a blazer… or maybe going full contrast with a tube top. What do we think?
🟢 Look #1: Wild West But Make It Maximalist (Animal Print Skirt + Chartreuse Mules)

💛 Look #2: Dramatic Errands Only (Animal Print Skirt + Yellow Crop Tee)

💖 Look #3: Fringe + Fuchsia Fever Dream (Animal Print Skirt + Pink Ruffles)

5. Vince Camuto Mock-Neck Poncho
I wasn’t searching for a poncho when I found this on ThredUp—but that’s the magic of secondhand treasure hunts. The outfit possibilities are unexpectedly good: I’m already imagining it with a romper, shiny leather pants, or even a sneaker moment with Sambas (more on that below).
Normally, I’d skip something like this—four dogs and delicate fabrics don’t exactly mix—but this one was too good of a deal to pass up. So I gave myself a hall pass… and I’m hoping my dogs will do the same.
✨ Look #1: Gallery Girl Energy (Poncho + Bike Short Romper)

🤍 Look #2: Fall Layering Goals (Poncho + White Denim + Snakeskin Heels)

🖤 Look #3: Off-Duty Cool (Poncho + Slip Dress + Sambas)

What I Look for on ThredUp
My approach to ThredUp is part strategy, part serendipity. I always start by filtering by size, category, and style—it’s the easiest way to cut through the chaos and actually find pieces I’ll wear. Then, I zero in on the brands I stalk religiously: Farm Rio, Sézane, LoveShackFancy, Reformation, and Nasty Gal are always top of my list.
My general rule? If I can instantly imagine styling it three different ways, it’s going in the cart.
But one of the most fun parts? Discovering brands I’d never heard of before—like Doncaster Collection or Gia Couture x Pernille Teisbaek. It’s like thrifting meets fashion school—with extra credit for creativity.
