📣 Life Update
Happy Belated Fourth of July!
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! Mine was filled with pool time, good food, and lots of quality time with friends and family—exactly what a summer holiday should be.
This past week brought a few new posts that I'm excited about and wanted to make sure you didn't miss. First up was "Cool Can't Be Ordered Online"—my thoughts on why chasing every "aesthetic" trend is overrated and why the coolest thing you can wear is something that actually feels like you. It's all about remixing what you already own, wearing the weird things that make you happy, and remembering that style should be a love letter to yourself, not a Pinterest board come to life.
I also shared "Therapy Is Cool: 5 Things No One Told Me (But I Wish They Had)"—15+ years of therapy lessons, including my very expensive mistake with the wrong therapist, why finding the right fit matters more than fancy credentials, and why there's absolutely nothing shameful about getting help for your mental health.
Then Chapter 5 of "The Mother My Husband Knew" dropped—titled "Watching From the Sidelines." This one dives deep into how EMDR therapy has created these impossible moments where my husband can somehow communicate with my late mother during sessions. It explores the beautiful relationship my dad and I built after losing her, and how we became each other's anchor through everything. Fair warning: it's emotional, but it's also about the extraordinary ways love shows up when we need it most.
All three posts are pretty different from the usual outfit content, but they're pieces of my heart I wanted to share. If you missed them, they're worth catching up on when you have a quiet moment.
On a completely different note—Chris and I have been making incredible progress on our upcoming app! The feedback from friends and family who've seen early previews has been so encouraging. Watching their excitement makes me even more eager to share it with all of you soon.
Now, let's talk closet time. 👗
Quick note: Items with affiliate links earn me a small commission at no cost to you. "Similar" pieces stand in for items that are sold out or from brands whose values don't align with mine. If you ever spot a concern with a linked brand, please don't hesitate to let me know.
ThredUp exception: While I'd rather you shop what you already own, if you are looking to add pieces, I genuinely love (love, love, love) ThredUp for secondhand finds - it aligns with the "shop what you have" philosophy by giving clothes a second life.
Also while I try to find similar items, some of these items I wear are either older or purchased through secondhand retailers so finding an exact match is difficult. If there's anything I'm wearing and you can't find it on my ShopMy, please reach out!
✨ Everything I Wore This Week
☁️ MONDAY | Sunset Staples
When your coral top steals the show and makes everything else look effortless.
Wearing:
Abercrombie & Fitch Mid Rise Ultra Barrel Jeans • Coral Tie-Back Halter Top • Cream Heels • Coral Bucket Bag • Colorful Scarf • Lavish by Tricia Milaneze Crochet Ruffled Hoops
I’ve had this coral top for a few summer seasons now and it never fails to excite me. The color? Fun. The back-tie details? Fun. The ease of throwing it on with almost anything? Amazing.
Surprisingly, I bought this top, purse, and silk scarf all at very different times and from different stores and their match is spot on. Unfortunately, since this top is a few seasons older I wasn’t able to link an exact match but I did find a few similar options. Check out all the angles of this top on my Insta.
🔁 Rewear Report: The real win here? This coral top, bucket bag, and silk scarf were all bought at different times from different stores—but their match is spot-on. Sometimes the best color stories happen by accident.
🛍️ Some pieces are old, but I’ve linked similar styles (and exact items where I could) here → Shop the look on ShopMy
📌 Style Tip: When pieces accidentally coordinate this well, lean into it. But if you want to recreate this magic intentionally, try adding a colorful scarf to bridge your bag and top—it's an easy way to make separate purchases look like they were meant to be together.

🌧️ TUESDAY | Cadet Kelly Energy
Cargo pants, a cropped button-up, and the kind of confidence Hilary Duff would approve of.
Wearing:
Camo Cargo Pants • Olive Cropped Button Up • Charlotte Stone Lenu Kortman
Heels • Olga Berg Top Handle • Missoma Hera Dome Double Ridge Mixed Metal Hoop Earrings • Missoma Filia Double Chain Necklace • Missoma Ridge Heart Necklace
If Hilary Duff’s 2002 masterpiece, Cadet Kelly, was made in 2025, I’m sure this would be one of her looks. I felt like the overall outfit was a little bit muted which is why I had to toss in my hot pink bejeweled purse and Charlotte Stone mismatched heels into the mix.
🔁 Rewear Report: These cargo pants have been a closet MVP for seasons—I've worn them with everything from oversized sweaters to crop tops. They're proof that utilitarian pieces can be just as versatile as your favorite jeans.
🛍️ If you’re curious, I found a few similar pieces and linked them on ShopMy.
📌 Style Tip: When your base outfit feels too muted, don't be afraid to add bold accessories—like a hot pink purse AND mismatched statement heels. Sometimes it takes more than one standout piece to take an outfit from fine to unforgettable.

🔥 WEDNESDAY | Buttoned-Up Blues
When your top says 'business' and your pants say 'vacation'—and somehow it works perfectly.
Wearing:
Vintage Blue Nylon Pants • GAP Cropped Denim Vest • Vinyl Clear Heels • Alligator Snakeskin Print Top Handle • Missoma Hera Double Hoop Mixed Metal Earrings
These vintage blue pants from The Body Co were one of my best thrift store finds—the bright blue color just makes me happy every time I put them on.
Enter my trusty Gap denim vest, which has basically become a wardrobe MVP this season. Between this vest, my Gap puffed denim top, and my Madewell denim boxy cropped top, I'm convinced that investing in good denim separates is one of the smartest closet moves you can make. They work with everything and instantly add that perfect "put-together but not trying too hard" vibe.
The combination felt unexpectedly chic—like I raided two different closets and somehow made it work. Sometimes the best outfits happen when you stop overthinking and just go with pieces that make you smile.
🔁 Rewear Report: This denim vest has been in heavy rotation lately—I've paired it with everything from sundresses to wide-leg trousers. And these vintage blue pants? They've become my go-to when I want to add an unexpected pop of color to any look.
📌 Style Tip: When mixing structured pieces (like a fitted vest) with flowing ones (like wide-leg pants), play with proportions. The contrast between fitted and relaxed creates visual interest and keeps the look from feeling too uniform.

🌼 THURSDAY | Citrus Statement
Sometimes the boldest choice is the only choice—enter these lime green boots.
Wearing:
Quince Denim Button-Up • Lime Athletic Romper • Chartreuse Knee-High Boots • Missoma Ripple Oversized Stud Earrings • Missoma Ridge Heart Necklace • Missoma Women’s Peace and Love Jelly Necklace • Sant Hobo Bag
When I put this outfit on, I couldn't figure out my shoes at first. At first glance, I thought the chartreuse knee-high boots might be too much—but then I realized I wasn't taking my own advice: We only live once. Wear the boots if they make you happy.
And oh boy, did they make me happy once I pulled them on. Plus, one of my errands was taking two of our dogs to the vet for their annual check-ups, and the vet took one look at my outfit and made two observations: she loved it, and the green was one of her "colors."
That sparked a whole conversation about getting our colors done and how it's changed our shopping habits. Turns out, style conversations can happen anywhere—even in the middle of a dog check-up.
🔁 Rewear Report: This Quince denim shirt has become my go-to for balancing out statement pieces—it's the perfect neutral anchor for bold accessories like these lime green boots.
📌 Style Tip: Trust your instincts with bold pieces. If something makes you smile when you put it on, that's all the reason you need to wear it. Confidence is the best accessory.

💙 FRIDAY | Fringe Benefits
Sports team pride meets animal print attitude—a winning combination.
Wearing:
Abercrombie & Fitch Green Bay Packers Tee • Leopard Fringe Midi Skirt • Green
Heels • Woven Beaded Purse • Missoma Filia Double Chain Necklace • Gold Paperchain Necklace, Green and Gold Resin Earrings
So a few of these items are actually from one of my recent ThredUp orders: the leopard fringe skirt, mint green heels, and the woven beaded purse. To be honest, I can't decide which piece I'm more obsessed with—they're all so different and fun in their own way.
I know I don't need to go on yet another ThredUp appreciation post about how amazing it is, but I mean... look at this outfit. These finds prove that secondhand shopping isn't just sustainable—it's where you discover pieces that no one else will have.
And we all know I'm obsessed with Abercrombie's tees, and this Packers one is no exception. I actually cropped it myself because it lays so much better than having to tuck it in—sometimes a little DIY makes all the difference.
🔁 Rewear Report: This Packers tee has become so much more versatile since I cropped it myself—suddenly I'm reaching for it constantly because it works tucked, untucked, or layered without looking bulky. What used to sit unworn in my closet is now a styling staple.
📌 Style Tip: If you have shirts you never wear because they're too long or awkward to style, try cropping them. Sometimes a simple hem adjustment is all it takes to turn a forgotten piece into something you'll grab every week.

🖤 SATURDAY | Statement Shorts Saturday
Nautical prints and black basics—a timeless combination that never goes overboard.
Wearing:
Cropped Black Tank • Vintage Wide Leg Shorts • Black Studded Belt • Aupen Nirvana Noir Purse • Gold Crochet Ruffled Hoops • Black and Gold Mules
I feel very Carrie Bradshaw in this look, and I think it's because the belt kept threatening to slip down to my stomach—which immediately made me think of one of Carrie's most controversial moments of all time. Remember when she wore that belt on her bare midriff? Pretty much everyone hated it, but honestly? It was so very Carrie. She was a fashion risk-taker, and I don't think it was nearly as awful as people made it out to be.
Anyway, my belt stayed put (thank goodness), but the possibility was definitely on my mind while getting dressed.
These vintage nautical shorts are incredibly comfortable and give such a fun, preppy vibe. I really need to hunt for another pair when I'm out thrifting—how perfect are they for summer?
🔁 Rewear Report: These vintage nautical shorts are proving their versatility—I've paired them with everything from this simple black crop to a totally wild statement top. They work with both minimalist and maximalist approaches, which makes them such a smart thrift find.
📌 Style Tip: When you find a printed piece that works with both minimal and maximal styling, you've hit the jackpot. Versatile statement pieces are worth their weight in gold.

✨ Wrap-Up
This week was all about secondhand treasures and pieces that spark joy—from ThredUp finds to vintage thrift store gems. I love giving clothes new life, and these pieces have definitely found their perfect home in my closet.
You've heard me mention the five-outfit test before, but it's worth repeating: if I can't style something at least five different ways, it's not earning a spot in my wardrobe. That's valuable real estate that I refuse to waste on one-hit wonders.
On a more personal note, I hope you'll take a moment to check out the posts I mentioned earlier. While they're quite different from my usual fashion content, they're some of the most meaningful pieces I've shared—covering everything from authentic personal style to mental health and healing.
Your feedback on these deeper topics means the world to me. It helps me understand what resonates with you and shapes how The Kiley Edit continues to grow.
💬 Your Turn
Which look would you rewear tomorrow? Is there a piece you own but never wear—and want me to style five ways?
Reply to this email or DM me. I can build next week’s post around it.
Until next time: may your loafers be metallic, your coffee strong, and your next outfit feel like a main character moment.
If this made you smile—or think “wait, I could rewear that” too—send it to a friend or share it to stories. I’d love that.
xo,
Kiley 💌
