Everything I Wore This Week Volume 19.0
From Emily in Paris Obsession to Real-Life Closet Joy—Here’s Everything I Wore This Week
Hi—or Bonjour—for those of you rewatching Emily in Paris for the umpteenth time. (Just me? Cool.) Somewhere, my high school French teacher is wincing because yes, I did Google to make sure I knew how to spell bonjour. It’s been a minute, Madame.
If you’ve been here a while, you know I have a habit of bingeing a show and then… turning it into my whole personality. Most recently, it was Sirens—don’t worry, the chaotic Lilly Pulitzer dress has arrived and there will be photographic proof on Instagram soon. But every few months, Emily in Paris takes over my personality again. Suddenly I’m tying scarves around my neck and mixing unhinged prints like it’s a competitive sport. I can’t help it—I live for the fashion on that show.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about the genius behind those looks: Marilyn Fitoussi, the show’s costume designer. In an interview, she pointed out something I hadn’t fully realized—unlike Sex and the City, where we were always side-eyeing how Carrie could afford all those Manolos on a columnist’s salary, Emily in Paris skips the financial logistics. It doesn’t try to justify the wardrobe. It just lets us revel in the fashion. No guilt. No budget breakdowns. Just maximalism, whimsy, and wearable joy. And honestly? That’s kind of magical.
If you haven’t watched it yet, consider this your nudge. And if you have, trust me, this won’t be the last time I bring up Lily Collins and Emily in Paris. Season 5 is in production, and you already know I’ll rewatch the entire series before the new episodes drop.
Oh, and fun fact: as I was writing this, the French version of “Shallow” came on—sung by Ashley Park (a.k.a. Mindy Chen) and Kevin Dias. Both insanely talented. You’re welcome for the rabbit hole.
10/10 do recommend.
Anyway, I’ve digressed—but here's this week’s Everything I Wore This Week. As always, let me know if there’s anything specific you’d love to see in future posts.

Mood: Overalls, But Fashion
Wearing: Free People We the Free High Roller Jumpsuit, Aritzia Orange Tank Top, Rotunda Sant Hobo Bag, 18K Gold Initial ‘K’ Necklace, Reebok Jelly Belly x Classic Leather Legacy Flavor Mix Shoes, 12th Tribe Bailey Gold and Silver Statement Earrings
I was driving to my parents' house for the day and wanted something comfortable—and let’s be honest, this one-piece and orange tank are two of my go-to’s. I grabbed a purse I’ve had for over a year but haven’t used in a while. It’s way roomier than my usual top handles, and I wanted space in case I brought anything back with me. I had a mission: to go through old boxes and see if anything might help me with my book, The Mother My Husband Knew. And this outfit? Perfect for the task.

Mood: Aye Aye Captain!
Wearing: Vintage The Body Co Blue Pants, Madewell Boxy-Crop Button-Up Shirt, Missoma Filia Double Chain Necklace, Missoma Ridge Heart Necklace, Snakeskin Mules, Missoma Hera Dome Double Ridge Medium Hoop Earrings, Olga Berg Kimmi Hotfix Top Handle Bag
Another outfit made up of pieces you’ve seen on repeat: the vintage Body Co pants and my boxy cropped Madewell top have both been in heavy rotation lately. I’m still so glad I found these pants at a local thrift store—they’ve turned out to be such a staple. The pink Olga Berg purse was a recent Poshmark score and an absolute steal. I finished the look with mules that didn’t technically match, but added just enough contrast to keep things interesting.

Mood: Forecast Said “Figure It Out”
Wearing: Asos Design Wide Leg Pants in Gingham, Abercrombie & Fitch Green Bay Packers Tee, Snakeskin Mules, Missoma Filia Double Chain Necklace, Missoma Hera Dome Double Ridge Medium Hoop Earrings
I bought these pants a while ago but hadn’t had the chance to wear them—until now. We had family and friends over for wine and pizza, and I wanted something that felt both comfortable and fun. This look checked both boxes. If you’ve been following along, you know I own this Packers tee in two versions: the original and this cut one. I liked how the cropped shape worked with the wide-leg pant. There’s actually a matching top to these pants that I’ve considered investing in, but for now, I really love this mix.

Mood: Understated Chic
Wearing: Black Tank Top Maxi Dress, Madewell Boxy-Crop Button-Up Shirt, Adidas Gazelle Indoor Sneakers, Alligator Snakeskin Print Top Handle, Missoma Gold Box Link Necklace, Missoma Savi Pearl Gemstone Beaded Necklace, Missoma Hera Dome Double Ridge Medium Hoop Earrings
I was meeting some friends in Des Moines for happy hour and wanted to wear a dress I hadn’t pulled out in a while—enter this one. I bought it at least two summers ago and have only worn it a handful of times, so I was glad to bring it back into the rotation. To keep things casual, I paired it with my Adidas Gazelles and—no surprise here—threw on my Madewell Boxy Cropped Button-Up. That shirt has been in heavy rotation ever since I bought it a few months ago.
We went to Exile Brewing, and I finally got to try Ruthie’s battered chicken—and let me tell you, it was delicious. 10/10 would go back for that alone.

Mood: Chocolate Fudge + Denim
Wearing: Abercrombie & Fitch Mid Rise Utlra Barrel Jeans, Quince Washable Silk Button-Up Shirt, Chocolate Mules, Alligator Snakeskin Print Top Handle, Missoma Hera Dome Double Ridge Medium Hoop Earrings, Missoma Women’s Peace and Love Jelly Heart Necklace, Missoma Ridge Heart Necklace
I was meeting my sister-in-law for a pedicure, and this is what I happened to throw on. As I’ve mentioned in past Everything I Wore This Week posts, I’m just not a leggings girl. I’ll always reach for baggy jeans or cargo pants instead. And while this outfit might look like the more “complicated” choice, I promise I wouldn’t be wearing it if it wasn’t comfortable. The pedicures were amazing, and afterward, Chris and I grabbed dinner at one of our favorite spots in town—Georges.

Mood: Lemon Meringue & Fireworks
Wearing: Tulle Voluminous Hem Top, Schutz Keefa Platform Heel, Vintage Shorts, Edie Parker Bow Tie Cig Case, Missoma Ridge Heart Necklace, Missoma Women’s Peace and Love Jelly heart Necklace, Missoma Ripple Oversized Stud Earrings
Ohhhh this top. I think I’m in love with it. It’s unexpected, it’s fun, and the buttery yellow feels just right for this season. I paired it with these vintage shorts I thrifted a few weeks ago, and I loved how it all came together. Chris and I were headed to a fancier dinner in Des Moines, and I’d been dying for a reason to finally wear this top—this felt like the perfect moment.
When I originally found these shorts (and the matching top, not pictured), I thought they were a fun find—but I didn’t expect just how versatile they’d be. I’ve already styled them more than I imagined, and they work so well with other pieces in my closet, like this Zara top.
I loved the accessories I tossed on—silver heels, a little sparkle, and a whole lot of joy. I’m already planning to rewear this look for an upcoming event. Once you find something you love? Wear it again. And again.

🔥 Sunday
Mood: Harry Potter Athletics Department
Wearing: Adidas Satin Wide Leg Track Pants, Nike Dunk High Shoes, Bombas Women’s Vintage Stripes Half Calf Socks, Aupen Nirvana Noir, Harry Potter Mauraders Map Tee
We were heading to my family’s house for a very casual “girl dinner”—which, in our case, meant four adults being lazy and Chris and me teaching everyone how to play Euchre. Given the laid-back vibe, I wanted an outfit to match, and this one fit the bill perfectly.
I wish I could link this tee, but I cannot for the life of me remember where I got it. I think it was from Etsy, but it’s mysteriously missing from my order history. It was originally a longer tee, but I cropped it myself with scissors—I just prefer the look to having to do the millennial tuck (and yes, Gen Z, I hear you).
I finished the look with my Nike Dunk Highs, which I still love wearing—even if they aren’t the “it” shoe right now. I’m fine with that. I’ll be wearing them until they fall apart, which luckily doesn’t feel like anytime soon.

✨ Wrap-Up
This week was full of repeats—my vintage thrift finds and go-to Madewell Boxy Cropped Button-Up made multiple appearances. And honestly? I love that. It means I’m getting real wear out of the pieces I’ve already invested in, which always makes me feel more confident about my shopping choices.
These days, I try to make sure anything I buy can be styled at least five different ways. I don’t want pieces that only work in one super-specific outfit and then just sit there. That’s one of the biggest reasons I document what I wear each week—it keeps me accountable to actually wear what’s in my closet. It pushes me to reimagine older pieces, give forgotten ones a new life, and stay creative with the repeats.
Even though I love Emily in Paris (clearly), I do not have her seemingly unlimited wardrobe budget. So for me, rewearing isn’t just practical—it’s a challenge I actually enjoy.
I’m curious—do you like seeing how I rewear things? Or would you rather see more variety from my closet before I double back on favorites?
🖤 Which look was your favorite?
